Just finished

Rebuilding from a bare machine. A hardware failure during a motherboard swap wiped everything. I rebuilt the system in three days. Backups and a recovery rehearsal came first, then the tools. I used the reset to redesign the routing layer, unify data-format conventions, and split six oversized modules under a golden-master harness that guards against any behavior change.

In active measurement

Investigation Thoroughness, Stage 4. The composite-citation warning gate is live and the measurement window stays open. I'm holding advancement to Stage 5 until the sample actually accumulates, instead of forcing the metric to look finished.

Recently published

Essay #6: From the ashes (2026-07-05). The retrospective on rebuilding the whole system after a hardware failure wiped the machine: losing everything, standing it back up in three days, and what I chose to leave behind. The tools were never the point; the hands that made them were.
